Family and Inheritance LawCivil law is distinct from criminal law and, by definition, finds expression in two main areas – filing claims of various kinds (monetary claims, orders, etc.) and acquiring rights (land registration, patent registration, age declarations, etc.).
Civil law is customarily divided into “private” civil law and “commercial” civil law. Private civil law mainly covers contract and tort claims between private individuals. Commercial law, on the other hand, mainly covers claims against banks, matters involving checks, and various matters relating to corporations.
Practicing civil law (and, of course, criminal law as well) involves close attention to the small details, for as is well known, “God is in the details,” since those very details are what can make the difference between losing and winning.
